Handset Upgrade Instructions


Great News for Cellular One Customers!
As part of the Cellular One commitment to excellence, we are happy to introduce a new enhanced web content upgrade to our customers who sign up for internet content, text alerts and picture messaging. This upgrade will enable your phone and Cellular One to work harder for you!

What does this mean to you?
• Exclusive Local and community content, such as school calendars, which no other carrier offers!
• Wider variety of Alerts such as Sports Scores, Daily Quotes and Morning Weather Report
• More Ringtones and Wallpaper
• Enhanced picture messaging
• More opportunity to participate in Cellular One and other National Text-to-Win contests

What do you need to do? It’s simple. Follow the next few steps and you will be all set!
Over the next few days, we will begin the over the air upgrade (OTA). This process requires you to accept two upgrades to your phone. You will receive a text message from us prior to the process beginning.
  1. On most phones you will receive a text message which states "Please use the following PIN number 1234 for viewing OTA settings." This message will be followed by a message asking if you would like to upgrade your browser. When the upgrade message is received, you must choose to install the upgrade. When prompted for the password, Enter PIN 1234, select OK and the installation will complete automatically.

  2. This process will be repeated a second time, as there are two settings that are being upgraded.

  3. Some phones may not receive the initial text message; in these cases, the phone will simply ask you if you would like to upgrade your settings. Select "Yes" and your phone will automatically be configured. You will also receive two messages, so be sure to select "Yes" to both requests to install the upgrade.

  4. The upgrade process is now complete unless you have one of the Motorola models listed below.

What about my Alerts?
In order for text alerts to continue working properly, you must follow the update process.
Previously selected alerts will continue to work for a period of a few weeks, to allow time for you to update your phone and select new alerts. To select new alerts from the enhanced list now available to you, click on "Multimedia" at the top of your screen, or select your alerts and content from the browser of your smart phone.

What about my Picture Messaging?
In order for text alerts to continue working properly, you must follow the update process.
Handsets that are not updated will not send and receive picture messages correctly.
